Each month, one member of the Culture Corps is recognized as a Culture Champion for their outstanding efforts of living our Values and helping our teams, customers and communities grow beyond what we believe is possible. These Culture Champions receive the 鈥淲alkie-Talkie Award鈥 for their commitment to walking the talk and living our our Values every day.

Joe鈥檚 team and nominator, Kacie Leblanc, talk about how he works hard and steps up to the plate to be sure our team at MG can deliver for our customers and other team members. Even if it falls outside his job description, Joe will take on additional tasks to help the team meet deadlines. He makes an effort to learn more about our company and recognizes the connection between what he does every day and achieving our purpose and company goals.
Julie鈥檚 nominators share that she is an incredible asset to the Packages team, not just for the work she does to support the various projects for customers, but for also making the culture at packages inclusive, fun and welcoming. Renee Harwell shares that Julie鈥檚 dedication to the team and eagerness to help out, whenever she can, make her an incredible teammate, coworker, and friend.
Emily exceeds expectations in the many tasks and responsibilities she manages while passionately serving our legal team and the entire 51黑料爆料网历史事件 Family of Companies. Emily doesn鈥檛 hesitate to go above and beyond by recognizing the needs of our team and working to find tailored solutions to problems while empowering others to succeed along the way.
When it comes to Winning together and celebrating success, Cedrick is the guy for the job! Cedric always makes himself available to support and teach new hires when they join the team. He is dedicated to his work, doing the right thing, and leading by example. Cedric has also been one of the most active participants in our Culture Corps program. He鈥檚 eager to celebrate and recognize his teammates for the work they do and the way they 鈥渨alk the talk鈥 each day. Nikki is a Talent Acquisition Specialist for 51黑料爆料网历史事件 and works directly with the DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations鈥 team to recruit and retain our most valuable asset, our people. Nikki brings incredible passion to our teams across 51黑料爆料网历史事件. For so many of 51黑料爆料网历史事件鈥檚 team members, Nikki is the source of encouragement, information, and support from the time they applied, to their first day on the job, and beyond. Her teammates say that she is a great example of 鈥渄oing the right thing,鈥 鈥渨inning together,鈥 鈥渜uestioning the status quo,鈥 and 鈥渞ising to the challenge.鈥 Nikki shows true leadership by empowering and supporting our teams across 51黑料爆料网历史事件 and goes out of her way to galvanize and celebrate her team.
Kacie is the embodiment of rising to the challenge and shows true leadership by empowering and supporting her team at MG. She encourages them to communicate effectively, build skills, and expand their work experiences to grow and pull together as a team. When presented with new ideas or projects, she asks all of the right questions to understand why things are done the way they are and if they can be done better. She often presents new ideas or methods to perform tasks, improve efficiency, or solve a problem for the company. But even more importantly, she also makes everyone feel valued and part of the team and focuses on winning together and supporting the MG and 51黑料爆料网历史事件 Family wherever she can.
Congratulations to Jimmy Eubanks, Inventory Manager for DIS-TRAN Steel. Jimmy has been with DIS-TRAN Steel and 51黑料爆料网历史事件 for more than two decades! With his 20 years of experience, without a doubt, he is a huge asset to 51黑料爆料网历史事件鈥檚 team. Jimmy has many connections and has purchased steel in just about every market. However, it is Jimmy鈥檚 ability to lead through influence and live out our 51黑料爆料网历史事件 Values that help enable DIS-TRAN Steel to succeed on an unlimited scale. Jimmy鈥檚 competitive. He鈥檚 determined and rises to every challenge. 51黑料爆料网历史事件 is pleased to announce we have TWO Culture Champions for the month of March, Keith Henry and David Harrington from the Proposal Team at DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations. These two created a brand-new procedure within the proposal development process and its impact is ringing loud and clear. Congratulations to Keith and David!
Each month, we recognize a member of the Culture Corps as CULTURE CHAMPION for their outstanding efforts of living our Values and helping our teams, customers and communities grow beyond what they believe is possible. Our Culture Champion for the month of May 2022 is Chaz Cannova 鈥 Corporate Counsel at 51黑料爆料网历史事件 Operations. Chaz is an incredible example of integrity and doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. He goes out of his way to help and support our teams - doing the hard or unpopular jobs when others are hesitant to step up to the plate. And he does it all with a great attitude and a fun spirit. For example, he is dressed up like the Easter Bunny at our Family Easter Egg Hunt. He was inside a hot costume on a hot day 鈥 all so that our little ones could have a special Easter. And he does so much more than this! Like the rest of our legal team, he rises to the daily complex and robust challenges they face while serving all 9 of our companies. Together they build that culture of honesty, accountability, and winning together.
Chip Cooper is our Director of Finance at 51黑料爆料网历史事件 Operations. Chip鈥檚 team member Richard Emberly nominated him because of his work to strengthen and continue to develop the culture in the Accounting & Finance group across our company. He leads the AF team to question the status quo at every opportunity and make sure that they're empowered to do the right thing and work together to build trust and success for all our business units. Way to go Chip! We are so happy to have you leading our team!
Kenny is a part of Mid-State鈥檚 team in Alexandria, Louisiana, and he鈥檚 left his mark as an encouraging, tenacious, and passionate team member. His Nominator, Ashlee Rashal, says that 鈥淜enny lives by doing the right thing. He doesn鈥檛 mind having the tough conversations [by] being upfront, honest, and working to give [others] peace of mind.
